SCREAMING AT THE SUN

Screaming at the Sun
for answers
hiding in a shrub
for fear
climbing the driest
mountain
with broken limbs
crying into darkness
missing rain
skin bleached red
head spun
full of spiders
tongue parched
blistered from
drink
holding out
for something
someone
some reason
to wake
again
confused
and
screaming
at
the Sun.
