Is the second term of a Presidency just a lame duck session or can a real difference be made?
QUACK"QUACK..."It this 'real'?Is this 'sound'?Is this 'a definition'?What is this noise all about?"QUACK...Again my ears are prickedmy sleepy mind alertedby noise rather thanwordsNoise from actionsfrom chaos(from the ashes of a fallen star)from the scuffle before meas leaders and their minionsgather and mingleand carry on (hurriedly)(almost panicked)about things real orun-realisticgrasping at wordssaid-spoken-written-readcherry-picking the best phrasingsregardless of meaning or contextrearranging metaphorsto suit their needsthen spring wildlike fireupon the presses-the masses -the networkssociety has built itself onscandals ragingmoney changing hands by the millionsthe wide eyes of the Believerand the wary visions of the nonall collectively occurringin an organized frenzy(of falsified spontaneity)designed to simply boost and boasttheir Chosen Oneas Ruler of Everything.The goals realizedalmost a tiea unanimous sighsome forsome againstsome full of apathetic ignorancemost full of prideand the new cyclebegins again.Words selectedtwisted (and) re-appliedaccusing and hypothesisingangrily pointing speculative fingersanywhere but homedetermined to undermineto slam and slanderto purposely create derision(doubt and mistrust) to spin the factsinto a fine cloth of deceptiontightly woundthe Truth bounddistracted and blinddefensively over-compensatingfor ideals that no longer matter(distracted andslightly off coursepartially lost)(forgetting themeaningof Why the pathbeneath our feetis there.)"QUACK..."The sound is once more...My eyes flip openmy head becomes clear.The sun is kissing the horizonthe geese and other fowlare beginning to dropfrom the skywaddling in a massone throbbing unitall heading to safetyheads soon tucked under wingsalmost quiet now..."QUACK..."I see ahead at the shorea flurry of feathersfalling from the skyfar behind the packalonenot quite in controlof its own powerwings visibly clippedflying crippledit dives and stallsand tries and triesagain to landgiving more focus and energyto the deedthan the rest of themcombinedAnd as the darkness falls completeI can no longer see itbut I know it is theremaking an effortmaking it happendoing its bestto appease the restand complete the task at hand....then it comesbreaking the silent evea persistent solitary whisperof victory..."QUACK."-C SCHWEIZER©2013 C SCHWEIZER**************************************
